Ms. Susan Wysocki sits down with Migraine Resource Network to discuss the issue of migraine in women. She explores the myths of migraine, especially those associated with menstrual migraine, and provides clinical guidance about headache assessment, patient communications, classification of headache, selection of therapy, goals of treatment, and side effect management. Ms. Wysocki also provides listeners with takeaway clinical pearls for practice.
This activity is designed for physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, advanced practice nurses, nurses, and other allied health professionals with an interest in the management of migraine.
After completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:
Describe the clinical features and coding requirements of both pure and menstrually related migraine
Identify assessment methods that effectively contribute to an accurate diagnosis.
Contrast and compare therapeutic options for both acute and preventative menstrual migraine care
Identify risks associated with various migraine therapies
